The goal of the course “Data Consolidation and relationship between financial statements in SME analysis” is to teach students to conduct consolidated analyses of related parties of the SME segment and to use cross-checking tools for data verification in consolidated financial statements: the balance sheet, the profit and loss statement (P&L) and the cash flow statement (Cash-flow).

The course is targeted at experienced loan officers and middle managers of financial organizations working with SME clients.

The course will also be interesting for officers or middle managers responsible for making decisions on SME loans.

It is understood that you have experience in SME lending and in conducting consolidated analyses, understand the structure of analytical financial statements (the balance sheet, the P&L, and the Cash-flow statement) and know how to compile them.

In undergoing this course, you will:

  • learn why owners establish several companies when doing business;
  • explore signs that help you identify hidden companies;
  • learn in detail about the difficulties of consolidated analysis and how to deal with them;
  • learn what VAT (value added tax) is and how it can be reflected in accounting of companies;
  • explore the possible approaches to consolidation of financial items that may be recorded inclusive or exclusive of VAT;
  • study in detail comparative analysis, cross-checking based on the relationship between financial statements;
  • study an additional form of comparative analysis, indirect cash-flow compilation.

You will consolidate theoretical knowledge by undergoing practical examples.
