Financial inclusion of small business and individuals in Tajikistan

On August 15 the first national conference on financial inclusion in Tajikistan took place in Dushanbe. The conference was organised by the National Association of Microfinance Institutions in Tajikistan and the National Association of Business Women in Tajikistan in the framework of NICE TAK (Networking Intermediaries & Competitive Enterprises in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan) programme implementation.

The purpose of the conference was to identify and research innovations, innovative financial and non-financial services, which would enhance access to finance for low-income individuals, individual proprietors and women in business.

Mr Azamat Baltabaev took part in the conference on behalf of the RSBP for Central Asia and discussed trends in training staff of financial institutions engaged in serving clients at a panel with other fellow experts.

Among participants of the conference were representatives of local and international financial institutions, National Bank of Tajikistan, the Government, entrepreneurs, NGOs and managers of financial institutions from Central Asian countries. Participants were able to share their experiences and know-how on enhancing financial inclusion, introducing innovations, improving services and development of demand-based financial and non-financial products.
